Photography is about capturing light . It is that simple. But critters don’t seem to care, one way or another, about lighting, composition or photographers feelings for that matter. They present when, where and as it suits them. And they don’t take direction. That’s attitude for you. I love attitude. The images selected for this offering reflect my bias for snaps of critters, or nature itself, that captures a little attitude.

A strong image should speak for itself. It should not need description or interpretation. But much is learned from observing and photographing nature. It should be shared.

The Hawaiian tradition of old friends sharing experiences and passing time is to “talk story.” This is the place on this website to “talk story” - to share in words - some of what I have seen through my lens.

“Ola Loa” is such a story.
